Things I Love: Maneki Neko

The Maneki Neko, also known as Welcoming Cat or Lucky Cat is a  Japanese sculpture, often made of ceramic, and is believed to bring good luck to the owner. Some of the sculptures are electric or battery-powered and have a slow-moving paw that makes it look like it is waving or welcoming you. They are traditionally placed at the entrance of shops, restaurants and other businesses.

I'm a cat fanatic and I am also a fan of Japanese culture so naturally I love these cute kitty ornaments. In addition to sculptures, Maneki Neko can be found as jewelry, piggy banks, clothing, and other miscellaneous treasures.

Here are some others who love these lucky cats. They are ULTRA KAWAII!! :)
