On our way to the O'Hare international airport in Chicago, we stopped for lunch at the SuperDawg drive-in. For those who may not be familiar with SuperDawg it's a cute little joint with undeniably the best hot dogs I've ever had. I'm not a big fan of hot dogs, but whatever they do to these...they do it right! The poppy seed bun is so soft and delicious in and of itself, add the perfectly cooked hot dog and then pile on the toppings - Yum-O! Jared got his hot dog loaded and it was AWESOME! The combo comes with Superfries, a pickle and a green tomato wedge. All of which were yummy!
I got a cheeseburger and have to admit that I was not that impressed. Of course...they are known for their hot dogs, not their burgers. After tasting Jared's hot dog I had wished I had gotten one too.
They have a vintage diner atmosphere with a slightly modern twist but the best part about SuperDawgs (aside from their hot dogs) is their building topped with two 12 foot hot dog icons to beckon hungry passersby. Check out the SuperDawg website for their full history and for fun souvenirs! And if you're ever in the Chicago area be sure to stop by and enjoy a SuperDawg for yourself!
